A side of Shubunkin

Hey there - just a quick blog entry giving you an update on some of my daily angst.

The barking dogs around my studio are driving me mad. I am worried that barking dogs will cause me to unwittingly drop evil devil dogs into my art - which can't be good.

I have also been battling a mysterious black cat which keeps eating the fish out of my pond. I was buying a really beautiful variety of goldfish called Shubunkin, but because of this evil cat I call "Pitch" for the movie Pitch Black. He stealthily arrives in the middle of the night and feasts on my handpicked Shubunkins. Pitch's relentless victories, in the dearth of night, have wore me down in keeping the pond properly stocked. I am now wondering if my new foe - has inadvertently become my pet - as I seem to be supplying him with a nightly sushi dinner! I am now buying $0.26 goldfish that Pet Smart lovingly refers to as... bait.

Last night, I caught Pitch at about 3am having a late night dinner on my last orange & white Shubunkin. I threw an 8oz bottle of Cerulean Blue at him and he scattered like a ghost.

I really would like to end this charade but can't think of a way where I don't wind up like an 87 yr-old hill billy who puts tacky netting over there pond, or a sadistic mountain man who cammo's up and hides out behind a mound of zebra grass with a single shot pellet gun waiting to kill a ferrell(sp?) cat.

I will try to snap a photo of Pitch and maybe put him in a future painting... it might even be therapeutic.

p.s. Art Dog has no interest in getting off her fat behind to chase cats, she's perfectly content to just saw logs.
